The weekend is here and we have another snippet from Hard Time (Responsible Adult #2) out for pre-order this coming Tuesday 25th July from Pride Publishing.
This time, Micky does a little growing up.

“Dougie,” Micky started, pointing out to the dance floor, “you go out there. You go enjoy your birthday. Don’t give a flying fuck what people say ‘cause round here people’s lips flap before their brains kick in.”
Dougie widened his eyes. Smiling, Micky caught Dan’s shifting gaze. Micky arched an eyebrow and Dan grinned with a further shake of his tail feathers. And at that sight, it wasn’t just Micky’s eyebrows elevating.
“Be true to yourself,” Micky continued, eyes still firmly on Dan. “And when you are, you might find a few people discover who you really are.” Micky knocked back his pint. “And they’ll like it. For real.”

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you for checking out these snippets and for everyone who has bought the book. For those who don’t know, Micky’s brother in my Responsible Adult serial has a rare condition called Williams Syndrome, which my son also has, and this book, I hope, has inadvertently raised some awareness. Today (Saturday 22nd July) I’ll be attending the annual Williams Syndrome picnic in London. It’s a chance for all the families from across the country to come together for support and, mostly, fun. And my first royalty payment has gone straight into this event. So a big thank you from me!
