ABOUT C F WHITE
Brought up in a relatively small town in Hertfordshire, I managed to do what most other residents try and fail—leave.
Studying at a West London university, I realized there was a whole city out there waiting to be discovered, so, much like Dick Whittington before me, I never made it back home and still endlessly searches for the streets paved with gold, slowly coming to the realization they’re mostly paved with chewing gum. And the odd bit of graffiti. And those little circles of yellow spray paint where the council point out the pot holes to someone who is supposedly meant to fix them instead of staring at them vacantly whilst holding a polystyrene cup of watered-down coffee.
I eventually moved West to East along that vast District Line and settled for pie and mash, cockles and winkles and a bit of Knees Up, Mother Brown to live in the East End of London, securing a job and creating a life, a home and a family.
Having worked in Higher Education for most of my career, a life-altering experience brought pen back to paper after I’d written stories as a child but never had the confidence to show them to the world. Having embarked on this writing malarkey, I cannot stop.
So strap in, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride…
So, you’ve read the official bio, but if you’re still a little interested about me. Well, I’m a writer foremost these days. Having written for a little over a year now I’m starting to take things a bit more seriously. Starting for fun (and to see if I was any good), I joined the excellent Wattpad community and discovered that people seemed to like what I produced. I plucked the courage out of no where to self publish my first book, The District Line, which garnered some interest. From there, I sent my second series off to a publisher and, by heck, it got accepted. The first book, Misdemeanor, in the Responsible Adult series, will be published by Pride Publishing in May 2017 and finally making my dream of being an author come true. To say I’m a little excited would be a understatement.
But me, personally, I’m a mother. I have two boys, one of which is disabled. It means I juggle my writing around many things and my books seem to always feature the undertone of struggles and emotions that perhaps I only let out in my characters. I find I gravitate toward gay romance, creating happy ever afters that come with a world full of pain and anguish.
I run to keep myself sane, I write to keep myself occupied and I believe that whatever you want to do, if you put your heart and soul into it you can achieve things beyond your imagination.
Welcome to my world. Where life isn’t always rosy, but there’s always a rainbow or two to gaze upon while you search endlessly for the pot of gold.
